After ten years

Nearly ten years had passed from when the Dursleys found Harry- the boy who lived, on their doorstep. Petunia Dursley, Lily potter’s ( Harry’s mom) sister, resented the Potters. She pretended that she didn’t have a sister at all, because “Lily was a freak” Aunt Petunia used to say. The Dursley’s house held no sign of another boy living there in that same house. Dudley Dursley, a big chubby, blonde boy is now the same age as Harry is. Well, it was his birthday that day. Harry was awoken from his dream by a shrill noise, which was Aunt Petunia’s voice. It was a good dream, one about a flying motorcycle. He had this feeling that he had this dream already. His Aunt rapped on the door again and yelled “ Are you up yet ?!”. Harry stumbled from his bed and pulled out a spider from his socks and wore them. He then hurried to the kitchen from his bedroom which was the cupboard under the stairs. Harry saw that the table was hidden beneath Dudley’s birthday presents. It seemed like he got all he wanted for his birthday. Harry was skinny and small for his age. He had knobbly knees, and he had jet-black hair, green eyes and a lighting bolt scar on his right side of the forehead. He wore round glasses which was held up with a lot of scotch tape, because Dudley would use him as a punching bag. The only thing Harry liked about his appearance was the scar. He used to ask Aunt Petunia, how he got that scar. And all she would reply was “ It was from the car crash your parents died, now, Don’t ask questions!”. Uncle Vernon used to bark at Harry to comb his hair. But even cutting his hair made no difference, because it would grow all over the place again. So, when Harry was frying eggs in the kitchen, Dudley walked inside, looking a lot like his father. Aunt Petunia used to say that Dudley was a baby angel and Harry used to tell that Dudley was a pig in a wig. Then Dudley saw the presents on the table and jumped in happiness. When Dudley was complaining about how he got 38 presents last year and now he got only 37, the phone rang in the living room. Aunt Petunia convinced him that she’ll get two more presents for him on the way to the zoo. She then answered the phone. After hanging up the phone, she turned to Vernon and said that Harry’s babysitter-Mrs. Figg, the cat loving, old woman who lived across the street, has broken her leg and cannot take care of Harry while they take Dudley out for his birthday. Now what are they gonna do? Take Harry with them or leave him with a stranger(yes, they would do that) ? If you want to know, stay alert for my next post. Thank you for reading !
