Harry visits the zoo !

Hey guys! It’s been a long time since I wrote my last blog post. So, let’s get into the story. 

Harry was supposed to stay with Mrs. Figg where the whole house smelled of cabbage and he was made to look at adorable pictures of all the cats she ever had. You may think that’s endearing, but nobody loves to look at cat pictures all day and smell cabbage when the rest of the family is out celebrating. Harry was often treated like this. He was often punished for mistakes he never did. For instance, he was locked up in his bedroom( that is the cupboard under the stairs) for a week because when he went  for a haircut and returned like he never went to the barber’s, Aunt Petunia sheared Harry’s hair herself and the next day his hair grew back. Then once they got a very angry letter from the school headmistress  for Harry’s inappropriate behaviour of climbing school buildings. Harry told he did that because Dudley and his so-called friends were chasing him. He hated it when he was treated like a slug ( like something that couldn’t understand them). Now, he was treated like that. Then after some tantrums from Dudley, and warnings from uncle Vernon, Harry was finally in the back seat of the new car. Harry couldn’t believe his luck that he was going out to the zoo, for the first time in his life. Harry promised himself that no weird things are gonna happen this time and he was gonna enjoy the trip to the zoo with his aunt,  uncle, Dudley and Piers( Dudley’s friend) . But little did he know that the most unexpected incident was gonna happen that day. After a while, they reached the zoo. Harry was jumping with excitement. Uncle Vernon shot a furious look at Harry and warned him not to misbehave. Then they all entered the zoo. Dudley was bugging his mother to buy him the two more presents that he was promised. Harry went looking at the animals in awe. Dudley and his friend Piers were given ice cream and Harry got just a plain old lemon pop. That wasn’t so bad considering that he was here for the first time. They ate lunch in the zoo restaurant. After lunch, they entered the reptile section. It was dark in there. Harry was fascinated by the different species of snakes and lizards. He went and looked at the information boards of the reptiles. Dudley and Piers went to see the huge, man-crushing pythons and those kinds of big snakes. Dudley then went near an enormous snake and peered through the glass. It was sleeping. He was bored with this. He called his father and ordered him to wake the snake up. Vernon then rapped at the glass. This made the snake move a bit and it resumed sleeping again. Dudley was annoyed with this and went on to disturb other snakes. Harry then went and saw the snake pitifully. The snake did something that Harry didn’t expect. It stood up to Harry’s eye level and winked (yeah, it winked).
